Parks in Lubbok Texas Provide Free Access to Physical Activity Opportunities
Annette Boles, assistant director of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Garrison Institute on Aging and a director of the Healthy Lubbock campaign, said physical activity can help manage diabetes, delay the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, reduce chances of experiencing heart attacks and help prevent other health issues.
Maintaining overall wellness and managing health conditions can be as simple as taking 15 minutes each day to be physically active. And in Lubbock, Texas it doesn’t have to include a trip to a gym.
Nancy Neill, indoor recreation coordinator and marketing manager for Lubbock Parks and Recreation, said there are multiple locations around Lubbock designated to encourage physical activity and that are free for public use.
